Last updated April 2026.
Acceptable use
Use Brief to publish release notes and product updates. Don't use it to host malware, harass people, or ship anything illegal in the country you're operating from. We reserve the right to take down content that clearly violates this, with notice where possible.
Your content
You own what you publish. By uploading a post to Brief, you give us the limited right to host, display, and deliver it to your readers — exactly what a hosting product needs to function, nothing more. Delete a post and we delete it from our systems within thirty days.
Subscriptions
Paid plans renew monthly or annually depending on what you picked at checkout. Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and we don't prorate partial months. Refunds are handled case-by-case — email us and we'll sort it.
Uptime and data
We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime and take frequent backups. That said, this is still a young product — keep a copy of anything you can't afford to lose. We'll tell you about incidents in a status page and be honest about what happened.
Disclaimer
Brief is provided as-is, without warranty. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. We are liable, to the extent legally required, for the fees you've paid us in the past twelve months. We'll do our best to be worth it.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change we'll notify active users by email at least thirty days before it takes effect. Continued use after that date counts as acceptance of the new terms.
